William R. Winton, age 81 of Burton, OH died Sept. 24, 2012 at Hospice House in Cleveland. Born Jan. 26, 1931 in Pelham, TN to Mansil and Willie (nee: McCann) Winton, he had retired to Winchester, TN 15 years ago after living for over 55 years in Mentor. Bill was a machinist working with Eaton Corp. and groundskeeper at a private estate in Hunting Valley, OH. Bill loved music and played guitar at Campground Free Will Baptist Church in Pelham, TN where he was a member. He also enjoyed gardening and outdoors. His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially at a big country style meal. He passed away surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Eva (nee: Hamby) Winton of Burton; son Michael (Ilean) Winton of Birmingham, AL; daughter Pamela (Jim) Wilmot of Burton; grandchildren Vanessa (Ryan) Henderson, Luke Wilmot and Matthew East; great-grandchildren Jayden, Grace, Juli and Evie East; and brother David (Marie) Winton of Chattanooga, TN. He was preceded in death by his brother James Winton. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Friday Sept. 28, 2012 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (St. Rt. 44, 500′ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon with Pastor Dale Miller of the Aquilla Christian Fellowship officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday 6-8pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Claridon Center Cemetery.
