Bill Stute, of Russell Twp., died Dec. 23 at age 83 after a valiant fight to overcome pneumonia. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Elsie (nee: Wyatt) Stute. He is survived by his two beloved daughters Jill (Joseph) Snyder of Russell Twp., and Tiffany (Kenneth) Bolton of Windsor Twp., and the six grandsons he adored; Timothy, William and Michael Snyder and Andrew, Ethan and Benjamin Bolton. A proud veteran of the US Navy, he served during World War II aboard the USS Garrard. Retired Division Manager for Power Brake Service & Equipment Co. He cherished his family and his dog Riley. He was a talented woodworker, enjoyed traveling and the outdoors. He lovingly cared for his wife as she declined from Alzheimer’s disease until soliciting assistance just months before her death. Bill remained active and involved with community and friends until his unexpected death. All who knew him loved and respected him.
