Wilbur J. McCabe, 80, of Claridon Township, died July 22, 2006, at University Hospitals Health System Heather Hill.Born Nov. 22, 1925, in Pipe Creek, he lived in Carlsbad, N.M., before moving to Geauga County 15 years ago.He attended St. Mark Lutheran Church and was a World War II Navy veteran. He enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.Mr. McCabe retired as a truck driver for Norwalk Truck Lines.Survivors are his wife, Geneva Abbott McCabe of Claridon Township, whom he married in 1993; daughters, Nancy (Dan) Lotz of Lima and Jackie McCabe of Carlsbad, N.M.; stepsons, Jerry (Janet) Bogt of Warren, Michael (Debra) Bogt of Orwell, and Gordon Bogt of Thompson; stepdaughter, Karen (Mike) Dillworth of Thompson; brothers, Bill McCabe of Mansfield, Jerry McCabe of Carlsbad, N.M. and Walter McCabe of Bellaire, Ohio; sisters, Marcella Dennison of Columbia Station and Donna Hancock of Carlsbad, N.M.; four grandchildren; ten stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Oma Jane (Piper) McCabe; son, Dennis McCabe; one brother; and four sisters.The Rev. George Zehnder will officiate the services.
