We have been blessed to live next door to Walter and family all these years. Favorite memory: When Brad and Joe were young boys and Doc got his tractor stuck in the back yard. He thought they were too young to help but they did push until he got out. Later he came over with a bag full of ice cream and all the toppings you could think of as a thank you for them. They sure were excited!

I was blessed to have worked with him and Joyce while doing vision screens at Chardon High School. He enjoyed that time with the students and the nurses who he referred to as “ the girls.” That was just one example of how he gave back to the community he loved. Family was SO important to him. His passing will leave a giant void in the hearts of everyone who knew him and especially his family. With time, may all your precious memories fill that void and comfort your hearts. My deepest sympathies.

A simply remarkable man. I was blessed to have him and Joyce assist in checking the students vision every single year for the 20 years I worked at the Chardon Schools. A very Christian man who lived his life by example of his kindness.
