Walter O. Scully Jr., 81, of Munson Township, died May 6, 2008, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights.Born Sept. 23, 1926, in Cleveland, he had lived in Meadville, Pa., and North Ridgeville before moving to Munson Township two years ago.He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Mr. Scully was a member of St. Hippolyte Catholic Church in Frenchtown, Pa. He had an extensive garden that he and his wife tended, canned and froze for many years. He enjoyed coin and gun collecting, fishing and boating. He was an avid NFL fan.Mr. Scully worked in construction in the Cleveland area before his retirement Oct. 1, 1988.Survivors are his sons, Walter C. (Pamela) Scully of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Lawrence L. Scully of Chardon; sister, Janice M. (Raymond) Sulak of Munson Township; brother, Thomas E. Scully of Espyville, Pa.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.His wife, Anna A. (Ranallo) Scully, whom he married Oct. 19, 1946, in Cleveland, died Jan. 30, 2007. His parents, Walter O. and Grace (Bennett) Scully Sr.; stepmother, Mary M. (Osterman) Scully; and brother, John O. Scully, are also deceased.The Rev. Thomas Gilles of the church will officiate the Mass. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Meadville, Pa.
