Walter J. Adams, 84, of Chardon Township passed away Oct. 21, 2006, at Briar Hill Health Care Center in Middlefield.Born Sept. 13, 1922, in Ireland, W. Va., he moved to Cleveland in 1942, and resided in Chardon Township since 1955. He was an avid bowler, staying active on Saturday and Tuesday leagues at Ernst Lanes until about six years ago. Mr. Adams was a gauge inspector for Cleveland Pneumatic for 35 years, retiring in 1984. Survivors are his daughter, Elaine Susan (Larry) Berkebile of Springboro, Pa.; grandchildren, Kenny (Theresa Lesler) Berkebile of Rome Township and Darlene (Jon) Berkebile-Hough of Chardon; great-grandchildren, Melissa Berkebile, Jessica Berkebile, Savannah Rose Hough and Searra Lynne Hough; and brother, Jack Adams in Clarksburg, W. Va.He was preceded in death by wife, Velma K. (Moss) Adams, whom he married June 26, 1943, in Cleveland on Aug. 3, 2002; and parents, Walter and Tempie (Combs) Adams. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Ray Mullett, Chaplin Hospice of Care Corp. will officiate the service.
