Mr. Fishleigh died Friday, February 12, 2010 at Tri Point Medical Campus in Concord. He was born in Cleveland and lived many years in Kirtland before moving to Chardon in 1965. In 1965, he and several others founded Chardon Lumber Co. and he was actively engaged in that business until retirement in 1991. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Mentor Lumber Co.He served in the Navy Seabees during WWII in the South Pacific from 1943 to 1945. Mr. Fishleigh was a Past Potentate of Al Koran Shrine Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Cleveland, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason of the Valley of Cleveland, Past Master of Willoughby Lodge #302 F&AM, and a past Watchman of Shepards of Esther Shrine #68, order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Geauga Aerie #2261, where he was in charge of building maintenance for many years. He was also a retired member of the Chardon Chamber of Commerce having served as a Director for many years. Mr. Fishleigh worked at Rolling Green Golf Club as a starter and ranger and was in charge of scheduling leagues and outings during the summer months. He was also secretary of the Eagle Shrine Club of Lake and Geauga Counties. He served as a volunteer at the Chardon Municipal Court for a long time.Survivors are his wife, Elaine, brother, Richard J. Fishleigh, several children, and grandchildren. His parents, Harry G. and Annie E. Fishleigh, brothers, Harry G. Fishleigh, Jr. and Wm R. Fishleigh are deceased.The family suggests contributions to the Al Koran Building Endowment Fund or the Building Fund of Willoughby Lodge #302.
