Virginia (nee: Ceroky) Tincher

Age 80 of Chardon passed away February 1, 2024, while residing at StoryPoint in Fairfield Twp, OH.

Virginia was born February 25, 1943, in Chardon, OH, to Joseph and Violet (nee: Gonci) Ceroky. Virginia married Donald Tincher on June 8, 1968. Their son, Adam Tincher was born in 1972.

Virginia was a long time teacher with most of her career at Chardon High School teaching English for 35 years. Virginia loved being a teacher and looked forward to each year of new students. She enjoyed helping each student learn the value of good English skills.

Survivors include her son Adam of Cincinnati; grandchildren Grace and Noah, as well as her brother Ken Ceroky (June) and sister Carol Jean (Ceroky) Cooper. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be held at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon, Monday, February 12, 2024, from 12pm – 3pm, with the Funeral Service beginning at 3pm.

Mrs Tincher was one of my favorite teachers and the absolute best English teacher. I still remember the way she brought joy and curiosity into our learning - 40 years ago when I was a HS student. I will continue to think of her with gratitude and fondness.

i graduated from CHS in 1966. Miss Ceroky was my English teacher during my junior year which I believe was her first year teaching. She was a kind, understanding and quality teacher. She gave a different perspective to previous English classes I had and I carried that into my later high school and college studies. My prayers are with you

Condolences to the Tincher family. I had Mrs. Tincher as a teacher at CHS. I also worked at Chardon Lakes Golf Course for Don Tincher for 5 years. I moved next to the golf course in 1976 and met Don, Virginia, and Adam then. Fond memories of the family from outside of the education role she had.

Mrs. Tincher was the only English teach to ever take the time to help me with all the in's and out's of the English language. I graduated in 1983 and had the opportunity to take several classes with her. She made learning about English fun and always greeted the class with a smile. She made a huge difference in my life, I've never forgotten her and the lessons she taught me. I'm a better writer today because of her. My sincere condolences to the family, heaven gained a wonderful angel.

Ginny was a great choir member at Pilgrim Christian Church! I am an alto and remember her, with her great smile and happy heart! So sorry for your loss, but believe that she is singing in that Great Choir now!! Prayers for you all to remember the good things!

Virginia (Ginny to us) is already truly missed. She turned good individuals into great people. The entire wellness team at StoryPoint loved her so much! We are all so blessed to have had the privilege of loving her. Our sincere condolences to Adam and the entire family.
