Virginia E. Loveland, 85, of Chardon, died peacefully June 2, 2010, in her home in Chardon.Born Aug. 25, 1924, in Thompson Township, she had been a lifelong Geauga County resident.Miss Loveland was a secretary for the former Chardon Rubber Company in Chardon for more than 50 years. After her retirement in 1993, she returned part-time for many years. She also was employed for the past five years at UH Extended Care Campus, where she enjoyed working in the gift shop.Aunt Virginia enjoyed visiting and spending time with family at birthday parties, holiday celebrations and many family reunions as well as playing cards, dominos and visiting with her friends. She was proud to be from a large family being one of 14 children.Survivors are her sisters, Mary Godwin of Mayfield, and Evelyn (William) Turner of San Antonio, Texas; brothers, Steven (Jeanetta) Loveland of Chardon and Richard (Jackie) Loveland of Thompson Township; sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and close friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Hazel (nee: Adams) Loveland; sisters, Dorothy Mattson, Irene Snyder, Mildred Loveland and Joanna Miggo; and brothers, Ralph, Charles, Floyd, Homer and Clayton Mike Loveland.Services: Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.Private family burial will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson Township.Memorials: Contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, Cleveland Metro Area, 155 Ken Mar Parkway, Broadview Heights, OH 44147.
