Virginia Constance(Ference) PendletonFuneral services for Virginia Constance (Ference) Pendleton, 97, died Aug. 17, 2007, at Blossom Hill Care Center, in Huntsburg Township.Born Sept. 1, 1909, in Cleveland, she had lived in Chester Township for 35 years before moving to Chardon in 1983.She was a member of the Chardon Baptist Church in Chardon, where she was active in the church choir. She was also a former member of the Chester Congregational Community Church in Chester Township, past member of the Chester Grange, Chester Pythian Sisters, Ladies Auxiliary of the FOP, and Daughters of America in Painesville. When her husband was Constable of Chester Township, she answered the phone and dispatched from their home. She enjoyed singing and making afghans, which she gave to everyone in her family. Her most enjoyable activity was being a grandma.Mrs. Pendleton worked for the former API (now LFE Corp) in Chester Township for 15 years, retiring in 1970.Survivors are her daughter, Evelyn (James) Vasileff of Cleveland; grandchildren, Leslie (Dennis) Wolcott, Martha (Ernest) Bender, Bruce (Judy) Paterson, David (Alnita) Paterson, Jim (Connie) Vasileff Jr., Candy (Dale) Teis, Debbie (Rick) Thomas, Stuart (Lynn) Forrest and Cameron Forrest; 15 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.Her husband of 64 years, Neal Pendleton, whom she married Feb. 28, 1927, in Cleveland, died Dec. 21, 1991. Her daughters, Joanne Huntington and Ellen Forrest; parents, Paul and Constance (Sowa) Ference; and sisters, Jewel Metzner and Frances Pasek, are also deceased.Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. Pastor James Hayes of the Chardon Baptist Church will officiate the service. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
