Thomas “Tom” Joseph Santek, Age 69, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on April 20, 2023. He was born in Euclid, OH to Joseph and Betty (nee: Buzaleski) Santek on August 14, 1953. Tom loved the outdoors and spent much of his time hunting, fishing and enjoying all that nature has to offer. He created many wonderful memories with his family at the beach; fishing, searching for the perfect seashell, or finding other sea treasures. Tom was an amazing grandfather, who was passionate about teaching his grandkids about animals and nature. He was a devoted husband of 44 years to his wife and best friend, Debbi.
Tom spent many years volunteering at Penitentiary Glen Wildlife Center, where he helped rescue and rehabilitate animals. He was especially passionate about reptiles, snakes, turtles, and loved his red foot tortoises. He and his family had an annual competition to see who could rescue the most turtles off the road. His passion for animals and nature really had no bounds. Tom was kind, patient, softspoken, yet always had a silly dad joke or shenanigan. He will be missed dearly by many.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Debbi (nee: Guy) Santek; daughters, Jacquelyn (Lance) Malone and Ashley (Ryan) Brostek; Grandchildren, Loralei, Cheyenne, Paisley, and Bennett; Siblings, Bonnie (Franco) Lantorno, Michael Santek, and Pattie (Michael) Petti. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Betty.
