Thomas J. Wilson, 79, of Chester Township, passed away Jan. 23, 2011, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.Born Nov. 23, 1931, in East Cleveland, he had lived in Chester Township for the past 42 years. Mr. Wilson worked as a sub-contracting manager for General Electric.Thomas married Judy Fisher May 28, 1960, in Mayfield Village, and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of the Acacia Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland, and was Past Patron of Ruby Chapter 4 of Chardon, now Clover Chapter 201 in Burton. Tom loved to travel and enjoyed dancing and gardening. His greatest joy was spending time with his friends and his family.Survivors are his wife, Judy (nee Fisher) Wilson of Chester Township; daughter, Jody (Darren) Broadbent of Lakewood; two sons, Thomas (Laurie) J. Wilson III of Burton and Jeffrey Wilson of Chester Township; grandchildren, Becky Heilman and Gabriel Thomas Wilson; and two brothers, Dick and Harry.He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. Wilson Sr. and Lessie (nee Williams) Wilson; sister, Geraldine Biro; and brother-in-law, Paul Biro.Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at Mayfield United Methodist Church, 7747 Mayfield Road, Chester Township, OH 44026. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
