Sylvia M. Reed

Sylvia (nee: Johnson) Reed, age 83 of Leroy Twp. died May 12, 2012 at Tri-Point Medical Center surrounded by family. Born Dec. 7, 1928 in Shawnee, OH to Spencer and Mary Martha (Patterson) Johnson, she was a homemaker and longtime area resident. Sylvia Johnson married Alvie Reed March 26, 1948 in Greenup, KY. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1970. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Mrs. Reed is survived by sons Danny (Kimberly) of Chardon and Randy of Leroy Twp.; daughters Sandra Evans of Thompson and Debby (Joe) Fox of Leroy; 15 grandchildren: Thomas, Cliff, Melissa, Michelle, Danny, Renee, Robin, Elizabeth, Sarah, Benjamin, Logan, Jennifer, Jason, Angela, and Dylan; 12 great-grandchildren and son-in-law Steve Niro of Jefferson. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Louis, James, Mervin, Orville, Elmer, Robert, Ernest and Nelson Johnson; daughter Martha Niro; son-in-law Richard Evans; and great-grandchild Evan Myers. A funeral service will be held 12pm on Tuesday May 15, 2012 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (St. Rt. 44, 500′ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10am-12pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Twp.
