Susan A. Kearns, 64, of Newbury Township, passed away May 29, 2010, at Holly Hill Nursing Home in Newbury Township.Born July 6, 1945, in Cleveland, she was a resident of Newbury Township for 40 years and a prior resident of Warrensville Heights.Susan A. Matthews married Richard Alan Kearns July 6, 1968, in Solon. She loved gardening, folk art, and was a published poet. She was a graduate of Orange High School, Class of 1963.Mrs. Kearns was the director of housekeeping at Holly Hill Nursing Home for 10 years, retiring in April of 2010.Survivors include her husband, Richard A. Kearns of Newbury Township; one daughter, Tammy Kearns of Newbury Township; and two sisters, Ilene M. (Roger) Hoffert of Bainbridge Township and Diann R. (Ronald) Hillier of Solon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Edna (Lewis) Matthews.Memorials: Donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106-2204. Services: Private family services were held. Burial is in Munn Cemetery in Newbury Township.
