STEPHEN ALLEN JONOVICH
Stephen A. Jonovich, age 66, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2022, at The Residence of Chardon. He was born on November 15, 1955, to George and Margaret (nee: Horn) Jonovich in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in Chesterland, Ohio and graduated from West Geauga High School in 1974.
Stephen was employed by the Geauga County Commissioners as a building maintenance crew member. Stephen enjoyed many hobbies including flying hot air balloons, restoring and showing his Fiat cars and achieving a perfect score of 300 for his bowling team in competition.
Stephen is survived by his mother Margaret Jonovich; his brothers, Ronald (Holly) of Chardon, OH and Gary (Darlene) of Seminole, FL. He will be missed by his nephews, Joseph (Sarah), Matthew (Sarah), Mark (Amanda), Timothy (Larissa) and James (Haley); and his nieces, Kristine (Michael) Krick and Laura (Bobby) Diem. Stephen also leaves behind 19 great nieces and nephews: as well as a very special friend Kaitlyn (Mikel) Bracken and baby Mollie. Stephen was preceded in death by his father, George A. Jonovich in 2008.
Stephen was shown wonderful care and encouragement by the employees at The Residence of Chardon. He shared many priceless moments with them and considered all of them his personal friends. Stephen’s family has many special memories of the staff members interacting with him; and we thank each and every one of those dedicated team members for their kindness.
The family will receive friends from 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00a.m. at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon, OH 44024. Inurnment will follow at the Chardon Municipal Cemetery in Chardon, OH.
