Stanley Y. Novak, age 82, of Hartsgrove, died July 21, 2010, at his home.He was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Cleveland, and was a resident of the area for the past 53 years, moving to the area from Cleveland.Mr. Novak was an electrician and worked until July 21. He worked for CEI in Ashtabula, Lake, and Geauga counties and retired in May of 1987 and then started Novak Electric.Stanley was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II on the USS Bremerton. He enjoyed working in his yard, collecting western movies, and especially spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Stanley was a member of the American Legion Post 167 of Chardon.Survivors are his daughters, Judy (Keith) Fulderson of Carroll, Linda (Kerry) Ferris of Chardon, and Sandy (Tim) Thompson of Ft. Myer’s, Fla., grandchildren, Mitchell Ferris, Jessica (Rocky) Hogue, Aaron Ferris, and Stephanie Fulkerson; great-grandchildren, Alexis Ferris, Sienna Hogue and Lucas Hogue; brothers, James Novak and Donald Ondrejka; and former spouse, Rosemary Johnson.He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha (nee: Fiedler) Ondrejka; brothers, Robert and John Ondrejka; and former spouse, Marie Novak.Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (on State Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.Visitation will be Saturday, July 24, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hartsgrove Cemetery in Hartsgrove, Ohio with full military honors.
