Sharon Lee Painter

Sharon Lee Painter age 52 of Chardon, OH was born on April 19, 1959 in Painesville, OH and had been a life long area resident. She died July 2, 2011 following a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer.Sharon was a special needs bus driver for Chardon Local Schools for 10 years. She served as the President of the CACE Union until her present illness. She was also a volunteer for the CASA Program of Geauga County. Sharon’s passions were her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cared for all. Sharon loved animals and was heavily involved in horse competitions through the NBHA. She raised dogs and a variety of animals. She was also involved in animal rescue.She is survived by her Husband, Ray E. Painter of Chardon whom she has been married to for the past 21 years. Children; Michelle (Thomas) Wiece of Mayfield Village, Jennifer Korcykoski of Chagrin Falls, Ryan Painter of Streetsboro, and Dani Painter of Streetsboro, her parents, Charles and Patricia Gebeau of South Russell, brother, Charles “Chuck ” (Karen) Gebeau, III of Bainbridge and sister, Lynn Clark of South Russell. She was affectionately known as Aunt Honey to her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great NephewA Memorial Mass will be Noon on Friday, July 8, 2011 at The Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street, Chardon, OHVisitations will be Thursday from 5-8PM and from 10-11:30AM on Friday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (St. Rt. 44, 500′ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.The family suggests contributions to the Hirsch Cancer Center, 6780 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland, Ohio 44124 for consideration for the quality of care and special time Sharon was able to share with her family.
