Ruth D. Satava (nee Hall), age 96, of Chardon, died Oct. 4, 2008, at Briar Hill Healthcare Residence.Born Oct. 11, 1911, in Novelty, Ohio, she was a lifelong Lake and Geauga County resident. She married Albert F. Satava May 4, 1932.She was a student at the Russell School where she lettered on the girls basketball team.Mrs. Satava enjoyed flower gardening, being a homemaker, doing crafts, and Saturday night dances. After retirement, she and her husband traveled extensively. She greatly loved seeing and spending time with her family and friends.Survivors are her daughter, Mary Ellen Panek of Colton, Calif.; son, Gerald A. Satava of Parma; brother, C. Calvin “Cliff” Hall of Painesville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Her husband, Albert F. Satava; parents, Ray G. and Anna (Sindelar) Hall and 11 brothers and sisters, are deceased.Pastor Shannon Blower will officiate services. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
