Rudolph Sustarsic, 89, of Chardon, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at LakeEast Hospital in Painesville.Born April 15, 1919, in Triadelphia, W.Va., he had been a lifelong area resident.He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and an avid golfer. He enjoyed playing the mandolin, violin and guitar.Mr. Sustarsic worked as a machinist at The Horsburgh & Scott Company until his retirement.Survivors are his brother, Victor Sustarsic of Leesburg, Fla.; nieces, Michele (Jim) Hargas of Mentor and Marlene (Al) Yannette of Mentor; and great-nieces and nephews, John Marincek, Tracy Marincek, Eric Moyer and Jessica Moyer.He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (nee Pianka) Sustarsic, whom he married in Cleveland; daughter, Christine Sustarsic (at birth); parents, Victor and Mary (Bizdazth) Sustarsic; brother, Bill; and sisters, Anne, Christine and Mary.Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
