I'm so sorry to have heard of Rons passing today at the Autorama. Rod built a motor for my 29 Ford coupe in the early 80s---a 327 Chevy engine. , and later, for my 55 Chevy He was the best of the best--when he did one, it was absolute perfection. Hotrod Heavins doors opened large when Ron entered--an so many already there welcomed him with big arms. Ron, you are a true legacy--

Dearest Thalia and family, My thoughts, prayers and love are with you all. It was my absolute pleasure to have had the chance to talk and deal with Ron over the last 14-15 years and my only regret is that I never got a chance to meet him face to face and shake his hand. One of the first crankshaft orders I took was from Ron....he always asked to speak with Sonny and Sonny was always happy to talk with him, but this time Sonny was unavailable. I was green, but Ron was patient and helped me through everything and made sure I didn't miss anything. I am 99% positive that Sonny called Ron the next day to check up on me "to see how I did". Typical Sonny. I am sure he has welcomed Ron and they are relaxing and talking up in Heaven. And to you Thalia, it was always great to hear you voice and chat briefly with you when I would call to ask Ron a question. Deepest condolences from all of us here at Bryant Racing. Sincerely, Jim Smaaladen and the Bryant Racing family.

Thalia and family, I grew up down the street from Hutters. I remember Ron's dad working on cars with Ron next to him. Mrs. Hutter cut my hair for years. I'm so sorry for your loss. Healing Blessings for you and your family.

I have three moments of Ron seared in my head. At his Dyno on Cherry Street tuning the RJP '56 gasser. Watching him pull away from his house on Maple in his beautiful Nova when I was delivering papers. And the third is him doing dry-hops in Ol' Rumble Guts at Thompson. He doesn't know I got whipped like crazy for slipping out one night to see him and his friends gathering at the shop to caravan to Indy. Never saw it happen, but I took one for the team. He made a lot of memories for a lot of people, and I'm sorry he had to leave us. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Rest Ron, you've got a race in a little while.
