Robert Walter Johnson Sr., 75, of Harpersfield Township,Ohio. Mr. Johnson died Jan. 20, 2006, at University Hospitals of Cleveland.Born July 27, 1930, in Harpersfield Township, he had lived in Perry and Montville Township before moving to Harpersfield Township in 1986.He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a Sergeant in Korea. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post 6846 in Geneva, and Disabled American Veterans in Painesville. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, woodworking and antique car restoration. He was also a mentor to many in all walks of life.Mr. Johnson was with Chardon Rubber Company for 18 years before becoming President of ARC Rubber Company in Geneva since 1979, and owner since 1984.Survivors are his wife, Josephine Marie (Janota) Johnson, whom he married Feb. 3, 1951, at St. Patrick’s Church in Thompson Township; daughters, Marylou (Vince) Traven of Trumbull Township, Kathleen (Stan) Willey of Charleston, W. Va., and Constance (Dan) Wright of Geneva; son, Robert W. (Diane) Johnson Jr., of Madison Township; grandchildren, Trevor and Jeffrey Traven, Christina (James) Wilhelm, Robert (Lyndsay) Johnson III, Sherri Johnson, Sarah and Hannah Willey, and Corey and Justin Wright; great-grandchildren, Chase and Dakotah Traven; sister, Sylvia Reed of Leroy Township; and brother, Nelson Johnson of Chardon.His parents, Spencer and Mary Martha (Patterson) Johnson; brothers, Louis, James, Mervin, Orville, Elmer, and Ernest; and great-grandson, Ryan Joseph Traven, are deceased.Pastor Michael Teston of Willoughby Hills United Methodist Church will officiate the services.
