ROBERT O. CARROLL, Age 82, of Newbury, died unexpectedly on January 31, 2021 at his home. Born September 27, 1938 in Cleveland, to Owen and Martyna (nee: Patricy) Carroll, he was a lifelong area resident. Bob was an avid reader, he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, boating, and fishing. He was a member of the Village Lodge #274 F.&A.M in Burton and a 32nd Degree Mason, ASSR Valley of Cleveland. He was a lifelong member of the NRA, American Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited. Bob retired as a Mechanic, Tool & Die Maker after 50 dedicated years. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially his grandson Zach, who serves in the US Navy, stationed in Norfolk, VA.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Darlene (nee: Ditmer); daughter Shirley (John) Toth of Chardon, Sister Kathy Dysert of Utah. He also leaves children Debbie Carroll Kelety, Donna Kinsel, Mark Carroll, Doug Carroll and Patti Batchhelder, and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Patricia and Barbara and grandson, Myles.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon, with a public masonic service at 6:45 PM. The funeral service will be Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by burial at Munn Cemetery, Newbury.
