ROBERT EUGENE LINKOUS “BOBBY”
Age 64 of Kirtland, died June 15, 2023 at Metro Health, Cleveland. Born April 9, 1959 in Cleveland to Robert E. and Betty Jane (nee: Reed) Linkous, he lived on the same property his entire life. Bob was the President/Owner of Links Auto & Truck in Cleveland since 1986, from which he recently retired. He worked for the family business then acquired it from his father. He was an avid Horseman, he had a passion for horses and worked with several local trainers and farms. Bob was an avid boater, spending every summer at the Mentor Lagoons, where he docked for over 25 years. His family and friends were very important to him as well as his “fur babies” Phoebe and Miss Kitty.
Survivors include his wife, Annette (nee: Petrof), whom he married May 2, 2009, siblings, Shirley (Leroy) Hale from Chardon, David (Angela) Linkous of Mentor on the Lake, and Janet (Tim) Carver of Chardon. He was affectionately referred to as “Uncle Wonderful” by his many nephews and nieces and great nieces and nephews. Bob also leaves his mother in law, Julia Petrof of Mayfield Hts., sisters in law Susan (Tom) Steck of Brookville, OH and Cheryl (Ed) Radvansky of Aurora.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Gene) and Betty (nee: Reed) Linkous, and sisters, Kathy Chick, Deborah Linkous and father in law Charles Petrof.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Kirtland Cemetery.
