Robert Bruce “Bob” Petersen, Jr., age 60, died unexpectedly on December 9, 2023, in Irvine, CA. Born on July 9, 1963. He has been a resident of Claridon Twp. for many years. December 1, 2021, he and 3 partners purchased the former Bass Lake Tavern to then become the Lodge at Bass Lake. Prior to that he was the manager of The Welshfield Inn in Parkman. Bob was an avid golfer, he enjoyed watching sports and traveling. He very much loved spending time with his furry friends Kona and Mookey.

Bob is survived by his mother, Ernestine “Bessie” Petersen, sister Amy Petersen, niece Makynzie Horvath, and nephews Justin and Ian Horvath.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Bruce Petersen, Sr., and niece Ashlyn Horvath.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon, Ohio.

A private family burial will be held.

So sorry to read about Bob. We so enjoyed joking and talking to Bob at The Lodge and Welshfield. We considered him a friend and will miss him terribly. Our prayers and sympathy to Bob’s family and friends.

I always enjoyed seeing Rob when I would take his sister, Amy to Chardon, Ohio to visit him and their Mom every month. I will greatly miss seeing you! Have a wonderful time in heaven playing with your Dad and niece, Ashlyn.
