Mr. Yocum earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Kent State University in 1957 and then received his Master’s Degree in Counseling from John Carroll University in 1965. H served as a College and Career Counselor for Euclid High School for 36 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of both the National Association of College Admissions Counselors and the Ohio ACAC from which he received the Jack M. Scott Award for distinguished contribution and service in College Admissions Counseling. Following his tenure at Euclid High School, Bob was Director of Advisory Services for Cleveland Scholarship Programs until 1996. He then accepted the position of Jobs Developer for Cooperative Education at Lakeland Community College where he worked until 1998.He has been an active member of the former Euclid Avenue Christian Church, now known as Disciples Christian Church in Cleveland Hts. since 1967. Mr. Yocum enjoyed gardening, music and reading and especially entertaining family and friends. Survivors are his wife Sally (nee: Taylor) Yocum of Concord Twp., whom he married July 16, 1966, son Brian Yocum of Chicago, IL and daughter Amy (Greg) Ryan of Newbury Twp., Grandchildren: Avery, Andrew and Addison Ryan, sisters Donna Mencer of Unionport and Eleanor Theodore of Hopedale, and brother Larry (Jane) Yocum of Cambridge, Many nieces and nephews. His parents Robert and Jean (nee: Osborne) Yocum are deceased.
