Robert “Bob” Kidder

Robert “Bob” E. Kidder, Sr. 79, a longtime area resident, died Aug. 23, 2010 at Burton Healthcare. He was born on Aug. 25, 1931 in Ashland, KY to William and Cora (nee: Schumaker) Kidder. He served with the US Army during the Korean War. Bob married Elizabeth Sharp on June 6, 1953 in Chester Twp. He was a pipe Fitter with Pipe Fitter’s Local # 120 in Cleveland. Bob enjoyed golf, gardening, listening to country-gospel, animals and was an avid reader of westerns. His greatest joy was spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his Wife: Elizabeth (nee Sharp) Kidder of Chardon; Daughters: Candice (Dave) Tvergyak of Montville Twp and Dorothea (Joey) Hill of Chardon; Sons: Robert E. Kidder, Jr. of Madison and Allen Kidder of Chardon; Grandchildren: Kellie (Steven), David (Laura), Carly, Lauren, Nicole, Matthew and Holly (Christopher); Sisters: Betty, Dottie and Nona; Brother: William; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald and sisters Ann Lee and Mary Ellen. Donations Suggested to Hospice of Care Corp 831 South Street Chardon, OH 44024 or Geauga Humane Society 15463 Chillicothe Road. Novelty, OH 44072. Visitation and funeral service at Burr Funeral Home will be open to the public but the family requests that the burial at Hambden Twp. Cemetery be a PRIVATE FAMILY BURIAL.

Uncle Bob was great! Always remember how good he was with our kids when they would visit at the park in Florida! Time sometimes is just not enough.... God bless Uncle Bob and the family. love, susanrose

I remember being the flower girl at Bob & Betty Sue's wedding. It felt so special to be a part of the wedding party and wear a beautiful dress. (I think I was 7) I remember how handsome Bob was and thinking that one day I would be getting married to a handsome man like that! It was the first wedding I remember going to as a girl and to be in the wedding party...how exciting!The times that we were all together as a family were very special and I always enjoyed talking to Bob because he had such a pleasant way about him. One time when Bob was still in the service I remember my parents taking my brother Roger and I to visit. I remember being at a base, not sure where, but I remember seeing a few pictures that mom had taken at the time. Our cousins were close growing up, spending holidays & special occasions at one Aunt & Uncles house or another. I was blessed with a special family. Thank you Lord for the blessing of Bob Kidder! God be with you all and comfort you.

Our families were neighbors on two different streets - many great childhood memories from Court Street!!! My mom enjoyed your forever friendship and corresponding during your trips south. Thinking of you all at this time.Debbie Lehmann Chuha

I was just talking on the phone to my sister Nellie Haydu. We wanted to express our love and sympathies to all of his family.
