Richard W. Dunn, 90, of Chardon.Mr. Dunn went to be with his Lord and Savior Oct. 3, 2009, at Holly Hill Healthcare in Newbury.Born June 25, 1919, in Lakewood, he had been an area resident since 1977.He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. California. He attended General Motors Institute in Flint, Mich., and married Bonnie Lee Brabender on May 28, 1977, in Chardon. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, tinkering and spending time at their cabin at Patterson Lake in Canada as well as Findley Lake, N.Y. He was a lifetime member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and a member of the Hambden Congregational Church.Mr. Dunn worked as a manufacturing engineer for Ohio Tool before starting at Lynd Tool and Die in 1952, which he later owned. He retired at age 85.Survivors include his wife, Bonnie L. Dunn of Chardon; sister-in-law, Karen Brabender of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur W. and Corinne Dunn; brother, Harold Dunn; and sister, Lois Isabell.The Rev. John Dove of the Hambden Congregational Church officiated at services. Burial will be in Lakewood Park Cemetery.Arrangements were made by the Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Chardon.
