Born on November 26, 1946, in Geneva, OH, Mr. Evans was a lifelong area resident. He died on November 14, 2010, at University Hospital in Cleveland surrounded by his family.He had been a Shift Supervisor for Enpress in Eastlake and also delivered auto parts in the mornings for NAPA Auto Parts Store in Chardon.Richard proudly served as a SP4 with the Company B., 2nd Battalion, 11th Infantry, US Army in Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device and the Combat Infantry Badge. He was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries received.Richard married Sandra Reed in Thompson on February 18, 1978. He enjoyed working on cars, attending car shows and spending time in the out doors. His greatest love was spending time with his friends and family. Survivors include his wife, Sandra (nee: Reed) Evans of Thompson; Son, Danny (Keri) Evans of Burton; Daughters: Renee (Randy) Myers of Leroy and Robin (Anthony Girard) Evans of Andover; Brother, Dennis (Kellie Blauman) Evans of Geneva; Grandchildren, Kaylee, Case, and Adrianna Evans of BurtonStep-Sisters, Barbara (Jim) Hoag of Michigan, Johanna Davidson of Chardon and Annie (Charles) Edgington of Montville; Step-Brother, Rick (Cindy) Blanyer of Arizona; Step-grandchildren, Randy (Holly), Rachel and Josh Myers of Leroy; Step-great granddaughter, Rylie Myers and many nieces and nephewsHe was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Catherine (nee: Mesec) Evans; his step-mother, Lillian Evans; his adoptive parents, George and Helen Lucas; a nephew, Clint Edgington; Step-brother: George Blanyer and Sister-in-Law: Martha Niro
