Dear Sally and family: I just saw the notice in CWRU Psychiatry Newsletter....I am saddened at Reeves' death and despairingly embarassed and finding out just now. Reeves was special...he welcomed me in 1965 when I arrived as resident....and we worked together until I left in 1979. Our offices were right across from one another and we shared many moments together always positive and uplifting. Together we blazed the trail of child psychiatry at RBC...and the stories ranged from head-banging to elation. But there was always an incredible honest decency from Reeves who treated everyone with humane professionality...truly we need a million of him!!! With a guy like Reeves, there has to be more than all this craziness....deepest sympathy and belated condolences...God bless....please forgive my tardiness in acknowledging this wonderful man......sam nigro

Reeves and I were Child Psychiatry trainees together at University Hospitals from 1959 to 1961 and colleagues for many years thereafter. No one embodied loving care and professionalism with his patients and students and collegial friendship with those of us who were privileged to share work and learning with him. A hundred anecdotes surround him, most of them either profound or hilarious or both.. We have missed him since his retirement but knew that he was happy with his family, his dogs and his log cabin.. Now we will miss him even more.. Scott

Ted taught me "Dr. Warm's Third Grade Rule" as a student and I used it as recently as last Saturday in speaking with a mother who has an unruly adolescent. The rule is that underneath the acting-out teen is really the great child who was a third grader. It reassures parents that the storm will blow over. But if the child was a behavior problem in the third grade, you would need serious intervention.Ted was the ultimate professional. Always the gentleman, scholar, and teacher. One of a kind! Thanks for sharing him with the students at Case and the staff at Rainbow.

To the Warm family,I'm so sorry for your loss. I first met Reeves when I started working in Psychology (Dept of Psychiatry) back in the late 70's. I remember when he invited people from Child Psychiatry to the cabin and my younger son had such a wonderful time helping to haul logs, etc. Reeves was just such a kind hearted soul who will be missed by many.
