Ralph R. Dunbar, 66, of Chardon Township, died Jan. 12, 2009, at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland.Born June 6, 1942, in Cleveland, he had lived in Chardon Township since 1966.Mr. Dunbar was an active member of Painesville Spanish Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed photography, electronics, traveling and was an avid history buff. Mr. Dunbar dearly loved his children and grandchildren and was always interested in their activities and active in their lives.Mr. Dunbar was an engineer for ABB Systems Inc., formerly Bailey Controls in Wickliffe for 47 years.Survivors are his wife, Sharon (Hirsch) Dunbar, whom he married Dec. 23, 1961, in Willoughby; children, David (Debby) Dunbar of Chardon, Andrew (Pennie) Dunbar of Milford, Mich., John (Michelle) Dunbar of Euclid and Heather (Craig) Sesnowitz of Lyndhurst; grandchildren, Madison, Caleb, Ethan and Mallory; mother, Dorothy M. (nee Grossman) Dunbar of Painesville; and siblings, Timothy (Laurel) Dunbar of Wellington, Rick (Wendy) Dunbar of Summerville, S.C., Bill (Bev) Dunbar of Mentor, Mark (Nancy) Dunbar of Greene Township, Robin (Dennis) Cole of Geneva, Donna (Danny) Fisher of Painesville and Scott Dunbar of Summerville, S.C.He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph E. Dunbar Jr.; and sister, Barbara Ann Dunbar.Mr. Leo Krause Jr., will officiate the service. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
