Mr. Alexander graduated from the University of Texas in 1951 with a BA in Art. While at school, he was a member of Harvey Penick’s golf team. He won the Massengale Trophy and was the captain of the team his senior year. In addition, his team won the Southwest Conference Title.Mr. Alexander married Louise O’Neill on January 23, 1957 at The Church of Gesu in University Heights. Mr. Alexander was the Assistant Golf Professional of Shaker Heights Country Club where he held the course record of 62. He played on the PGA Tour and won the Missouri Open and finished 2nd in the Texas Open. In 1966, Mr. Alexander left his position as salesman at Wilson Sporting Goods to design and build Legend Lake Golf Club in Chardon, Ohio. After the completion of the course, he and his wife Lou ran the course until his death. He was a Class A PGA Professional and a noted teaching professional. Mr. Alexander won numerous local professional golf tournaments in Northeastern Ohio. Along with his other golf accomplishments, he was proud to have 12 documented “Hole in Ones.” When not on the course, Mr. Alexander was an avid painter. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
