Phyllis Oliphant (nee: Kwasniewski), age 84, peacefully passed away on March 3, 2024, at Mapleview Country Villa in Chardon. She was born on November 2, 1939 to Raymond and Bernice (nee: Miller) Kwasniewski in Cleveland, Ohio, Phyllis’s life unfolded with simplicity and kindness. She was raised in the serene surroundings of Huntsburg, Ohio, and graduated from Berkshire High School in Burton, OH.
In 1962, Phyllis exchanged vows with her beloved Richard Thomas Oliphant at St. Lucy’s Catholic Church in Middlefield. Their union was a testament to enduring love and commitment. Richard preceded her in death in 2008. Phyllis dedicated her years to her family. She worked at Snap Out Tools and later at the Geauga County Job and Family Services.
Phyllis lived a simple yet fulfilling life surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She found joy in the little moments, cherishing the bonds she shared with those closest to her.
Phyllis is survived by her brother, Raymond Kwasniewski, her sister, Patricia (Gary) Dodge, her granddaughter, Madison Andre, and numerous nieces and nephews. Although her family was small, their love for her was boundless.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard, and her daughter, Kelly Oliphant Andre. Their memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved Phyllis.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024. A Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 p.m., with interment to follow at All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Road, Chardon, Ohio 44024.
In honor of Phyllis and her love for the color pink, attendees are invited to wear a splash of pink to her services.
