Paul E. Adams, 75, of Huntsburg Twp., OH passed away at Blossom Hill Nursing Home, Huntsburg Twp., OH on July 1, 2008. Paul was a Lifelong Geauga County Resident. He was Services Director for the Village of Burton for 31 years, retiring in 1997. He was often seen repairing a water line break, digging a sewer line and most often plowing the streets and sidewalks of snow. He was often affectionately referred to as “Mr. Burton”. After retiring, Paul built his retirement dream house on property near the family farm in Huntsburg, but soon missed “working” and worked for Middlefield Township for a couple of years. He was Member of the Burton Volunteer Fire Department for more than 30 years and served as Fire Chief for 16 years, the longest reigning chief in the history of the department. After his second retirement, Paul and his wife Dixie traveled in their camper around the states and finally settled for the winters at Adelaide Shores RV Resort in Avon Park, FL, where they had a park model and many, many “snowbird” friends. Paul enjoyed fishing the many lakes in the area.He is survived by his wife of 55 years Dixie Lee (Wood) Adams, whom he married in Garrettsville, OH, August 8, 1953. Wynn of Mesopotamia, OH;Paula (Brad) Baker of Huntsburg Twp., OH; Scott (Kathy) Adams of Windsor, OH and Grandchildren: Paul (Caroline), Daniel and Jenna Janssen, Bo Lynn Adams, Mandy (Mark) Hedrick, Jason (Erin) Adams, Chenette Wynn, Stephanie (Brian) Garling, Nichole Wynn, Lance (Kristen) and Kevin Baker, Brittany (Brad) Kumher and Justin, Derek, Tyler, Trevor, Austin and Isaiah Adams. Great Grandchildren: Tristen and Preston Garling, Avery Wynn, Noah Sitko, Camden Hedrick and Oliver Kumher.
