His past professional and community activities included serving on the following: Advisory Board of Lake, Geauga and Eastern Cleveland, Huntington Bank; Board of Public Affairs, Burton, OH; Geauga County Advisory Board, Kent State University Geauga Campus; Geauga County Health and Welfare Forum; Board of Trustees, Greater Cleveland Hospital Association; Trustee, The Summit County Comprehensive Health Planning Agency; Regional Advisory Group, Central Committee, Regional Medical Program of Northeast Ohio; Hospital Advisory Committee Council, State of Ohio, Department of Health; Advisory Committee, Blue Cross of Northeast Ohio; Mayor of Mantua, OH; School Board President for Chardon Local Schools; member of the Geauga County Board of Health; Burton-Middlefield Rotary Club; Barbershop Chorus in Danville, KY; and Trustee and/or a member of Mantua Hilltop Church (Mantua), Pilgrim Christian Church (Chardon), Federated Church (Chagrin Falls), Burton Congregational Church, and the United Methodist Church of Macedonia. He earned his B.S.-Business Administration, Kent State University in 1949 and was a S/Sergeant in U.S. Army assigned to Chief of Staff’s Office of Army, Pentagon, Washington D.C. during WWII. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a devoted husband for more than 56 years to his wife, Esther.
