Ms. Haueter was a graduate of Chardon High School, Class of 1962. She then earned her Bachelors Degree from Hillsdale College, MI and Masters Degree from Eastern Michigan University. She was an avid golfer, playing in 4 leagues, following her retirement. She served as President of LLEGS, a traveling golf league. She was an avid sports fan, following the Cleveland Indians, Cavilers and Browns. She enjoyed taking her nephews to professional sporting events. She was a High School Physical Education Teacher in Fraser, MI for 30 years before retiring in 1996. Ms. Haueter was an international representative for Volleyball, traveling with a group of teachers to China. She was a great coach and took many of her softball and volleyball teams to regional and state championship games. One of her High School Softball teams played in a National Championship game in South Carolina.She served as a member of the Chardon Recreation Board, and was instrumental in the founding of the “Mel Harder Field”.Survivors include her twin sister Penelope J. (Charles) Rosch of Middlefield, brothers Donald H. Haueter of Middlefield Twp. and Richard G. Haueter of Claridon Twp., sister in law Dorthine Haueter of Chardon, brother in law Dr. Jack W. Savage of Port Clinton, Aunts andMany nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She also leave her companion Morgan and many great friends.Her parents Russell and Irene (Thompson) Haueter,brothers Theodore Haueter and Robert Haueter and sister Nancy Savage are all deceased.
