Neva May (Hult) Wood, 72, of Chardon Township, a homemaker, died Monday, July 13, 2009, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.Born May 30, 1937, in Batavia, N.Y., she had lived in Mentor, Willowick and Willoughby, before moving to Chardon Township in 2007.Mrs. Wood had worked as an assembler for the SGM Company in Mentor.She was an active member of Chardon Baptist Church in Chardon and enjoyed playing the organ at her home. The most important joy of her life was being a homemaker and caring for her family. She also enjoyed having friends and being helpful and kind to people.Survivors are her beloved son, Hugh A. Wood of Chardon Township; sisters, Arlene S. (Bernard) Serbus of Palestine, Texas and Karen W. (Keith) Lucas of Euclid; many nieces and nephews; and fiance, Raymond A. Rudloff of Chardon Township.Her husband, Herbert E. Wood, whom she married in 1958 in Willoughby, preceded her in death March 27, 2002. Her son, Stephen E. Wood, who passed away in 1974; and her parents, Kenneth W. and June A. (Harris) Hult, are also deceased.Pastor James Hayes of the Chardon Baptist Church will officiate.Burial will be in Euclid Cemetery.
