NATHAN ALEXANDER GARRETT

Age 21 of Chardon, unexpectedly died on October 20, 2021, in Southern Ohio. Born August 19, 2000, in Indianapolis, IN, to Allen and Lisa (nee: Smith) Garrett. Nathan was an avid car buff, knowing the make, model, and power of all cars. He was also an avid gun person, owning, taking apart, and putting them together. Nathan was working at Point Blank Range in Mentor. Nathan had a quick wit, loved doing impersonations and making people smile. He was a 2018 graduate of Chardon High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Ohio Army National Guard, stationed at McConnelsville, OH.

He is survived by his parents, siblings, Brianne (John) Donovan of Pittsburgh, PA, Haley (Terryn) Thompson of Jacksonville, NC, Thomas (Alexis) Garrett, Matthew, Noah, Jacob all of Chardon. Nathan also leaves Brycen, Charlie, James and Ella, his beloved niece, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

We are heartsick upon hearing of Nathan's tragic death. We wish no one would have to suffer the shocking loss of a child and sibling, especially at such a young age. Nathan lit up the world with his smile and gentle kindness. We know that words cannot take away your heartache, but know that we are here to support you and your family.

Allen, Lisa and family, I’m so sorry for the tragic loss of Nathan. No words can lessen the pain and sorrow for you and your family. I pray that God will touch your heart and your faith will carry you through this difficult time. God bless you all and RIP Nathan.

Nathan Garrett was a great friend, great soldier to work with, and a great person to be around. I pray for his entry into eternal happiness, and for the peace of his family, and that the joyfulness and thoughtfulness I encountered in him will continue here among them.

Life is a mystery, in the midst of heartache loss questions chapters and moments where mere human words seem so shallow, we are reminded that there is that which speaks louder than any words, our love for one another, and knowing this love has a origin, a spring of sorts providing a source of love light comfort sympathy and mercy, within the darkest questions, confused decisions, and desperate choices, we will cling to that, the one who promised to never leave us or forsake us, and be with us until the end of the age.
