Myrtle Mae Abe, 88, of Aquilla Village, a homemaker, died at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital in Claridon Township.Born Nov. 25, 1920, in Cumberland Valley, Pa., she had lived in Ridgeley, W.Va., before moving to the area 52 years ago.She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved gardening and her flowers as well as taking care of her family. She was an avid cat lover. She was also a member of The Painesville Church of the Brethren.Survivors are her four children, Carol Jane Johnson of Orwell, Jim (Marla) Abe Jr. of Akron, Joyce Elaine (Tom) Ray of Aquilla Village and Jeffrey Lynn (Sheila) Abe of Aquilla Village; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, William Beaver of Silver Spring, Md., and Paul Beaver of Page, Ariz.; and sisters, Marion Kallach of Page, Ariz., and Ruth Tallman of Escondido, Calif.Her husband, Leroy J. Abe Sr., whom she married June 21, 1941, in Cumberland, Md., died Jan. 17, 1999. Her parents, Perry and Daisy Beaver, are also deceased.Burial will be in Abe Cemetery in Ridgeley, W.Va.
