MaryLou (Griffis) Mihalacki, 83, of Montville Township, died at University Hospital in Cleveland.Born May 31, 1923, in Cleveland, she lived in the Mayfield area for 15 years before moving to Montville in 1968.She was a member of the former Montville United Methodist Church. She attended the Middlefield Wesleyan Church. She graduated from Asbury College in Wilmore, Ky. with a dual major in piano and sacred music. Mrs. Mihalacki enjoyed her music, needlework, and time with her family. She was active in the church as a lay speaker and choir director. She also played the organ and piano there.Mrs. Mihalacki was a music teacher and homemaker.Survivors are her sons, Raymond (Rebecca) Mihalacki and James John (Joanne) Mihalacki, both of Chardon; and grandchildren, Jill (Joseph) Cordiano of Gahanna, Ohio, Laurie Mihalacki of Cleveland Heights, Audrey Mihalacki of Marietta, Justin Mihalacki of Chardon, and Steven Mihalacki of Chardon.Her husband, Joseph Mihalacki, whom she married Oct. 27, 1951, died Dec. 10, 2005. Her parents, Clifford and Mary E. (Thrasher) Griffis; brother, Richard Griffis; and sister, Edna Mae Smith, are also deceased.The Rev. Dave West of the Fohl Memorial United Church in Navarre will officiate the services. A private family burial will be in Richland Cemetery in Johnstown, Pa.
