Mark A. Sankovich

Mr. Sankovich was a 1973 graduate of Chardon High School. His life evolved around his children and providing for his family. He was a patriotic, hardworking American who loved his family and his community. He was devoted to his children and their activities, having coached and attended all of their sports and outside activities when they were young. He was a coach for the Munson Sports Teams from 1993 until 2002; Chardon Lion’s Club Football, Notre/Dame Cathedral Latin Softball, Baseball and Football teams, St. Helen’s and St. Mary’s Football and multiple Summer Baseball teams including Akron and Lake County. He would stay back and coach the younger teams when his children moved up grade levels. Anytime he was asked to help, he was there. He was a wonderful teacher and mentor to people of all ages. Mr. Sankovich always wanted all to feel welcome. His low key approach was well received by his players and those who interacted with him. He was the Facilities Supervisor for the Notre Dame Educational Center, Munson Twp. for 34 years, working until he no longer could.Survivors include his wife Monica (nee: Bozeglav) Sankovich of Munson Twp., whom he married May 15, 1976, children Jacqueline T. Sankovich and Mark A. Sankovich of Munson Twp., and Andrew T. Sankovich of Orlando, FL, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 3 brothers in law, 4 sisters in law, many aunts, uncle, nieces & nephews. He also leaves his Mother in Law: Cecilia E. “Dolly ” (nee: Myers) Bozeglav. His parents John Harry and Betty Jane (nee: Gray) Sankovich and father in law Anthony Bozeglav are deceased.
