Marjorie E. (Paton) Smits, 71, of Chardon Township, passed away March 24, 2011, at the Blossom Hill Care Center in Huntsburg.She was born Dec. 2, 1939, in Almont, Mich.Marge had a gift of creativity that she encouraged and nurtured in her four children. Her love of the fabric arts allowed her to master pattern making, fashion design, as well as soft sculpture dolls. An accomplished master gardener, she also volunteered for the American Cancer Society for over five years.She is survived by her daughters, Robin (James) Mackintosh, Lori (Scott) Cooper and Cherl (Greg Gerld) Smits; son, Kurt (Susan Leung) Smits; and grandchildren, Cassie Cooper and Clay Cooper.She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J.
