Marilyn E. Allenby (nee Martin), 75, of Chardon, Mrs. Allenby died Jan. 3, 2009, at Hospice House in Cleveland.Born May 24, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio, Marilyn E. Martin married Stanley J. Allenby July 21, 1952, in Cleveland. Mrs. Allenby was a 60-year resident of South Euclid before moving to Willoughby Hills and Chardon.She worked as a Corporate Secretary for the former TRW in Cleveland and as a Retail Supervisor at J.C. Penney’s in the Richmond Mall.Mrs. Allenby was a talented artist. She enjoyed painting watercolors and teaching crafts at the Hillcrest YMCA. She was a member of the South Euclid Women’s Club and enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She always enjoyed spending time at their summer home in Rehoboth Beach, Del. Her favorite past time was spending time with her family.Survivors are her husband, Stanley Allenby of Chardon; children, Steven (Nancy) Allenby of Proctor, Vt., Greg (Patricia) Allenby of Columbus, Ohio, Karen (Paul) Arnold of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and Jeff (Kerry) Allenby of Chardon; grandchildren, Brian Allenby of Portland, Maine, Scott (Lindsey) Allenby of Andover, N.H., Jeffrey Allenby of Annapolis, Md., Kate and Mark Allenby of Columbus, Julie Arnold of Macedonia, Chrissy and Nathan Arnold of Mt. Vernon and James, Jenny and Jill Allenby of Chardon; great-grandchild, Camden Allenby of Andover, N.H.; and sister, Doris Gordon of Mayfield Heights; and brother, Thomas Martin of Bay View.Her parents, William C. and Helen (nee Henderson) Martin and brothers, Robert and Bill Martin, are deceased.Private family burial will take place in Chardon Municipal Cemetery.
