Marian Arnold, 92, of Chardon, a lifelong Chardon resident and retired nurse, died at home.Born Jan. 21, 1917, in Chardon, Marian Lampman married Jack Arnold on Oct. 30, 1945, in Chardon.She began as a nurse in 1939 with Dr. Walter Corey at Corey Hospital and retired in 1995 from Chardon Local Schools. She was a mentor to many future nurses, offering guidance and encouragement.Mrs. Arnold loved to bake pies, cook and spend time with her family and friends but her greatest love was babysitting her grandchildren.She is survived by her son, Jack (Jackie) Arnold of Burton; daughters, Sue (Ken) Platz of Hambden Township and Janice Arnold Hissa of Huntsburg Township; grandchildren, Derek (Brooke) Arnold of Cleveland Heights, Brian and Megan Arnold of Burton, Scott (Alison) Platz of Chardon, Kevin (Jamie) Platz of Orrville, Kristin Platz of Hambden Township, Neill (Amy) Hissa of Burton, Eric (Celina) Hissa of Huntsburg Township and Kate Hissa of Burton; and great-grandchildren, Payton and Drew, Kaleb and Gianna, Lindsay and Matthew, and Owen.Her husband, Jack E. Arnold, died April 3, 2008. Her brother, Paul Lampman, is also deceased.Rev. Greg DiMeolo of Christ Community Church of Willoughby will officiate services. Burial will be in Hambden Cemetery.
