Maiya Jean Keeney, 8, of Chardon passed away June 1, 2010, at her home in the arms of her Mom and Dad.She was born Dec. 10, 2001, in Painesville.Maiya was a first grader at Maple Elementary.Maiya enjoyed laughing, making others smile, and music. She especially loved watching Elmo with her sister, Sadie. Her brothers could always make her laugh, they were her heroes. Although Maiya could not speak words, she spoke volumes to all that knew her through the love in her smile and eyes.Survivors are her parents, Dusty and Jamie (Arnold) Keeney of Chardon; brothers, Mitchell and Tucker; sister, Sadie; maternal grandparents, Jack and Ann Arnold of Montville; paternal grandparents, Don and Donna Keeney of Chardon; and countless loving aunts, uncles, cousins, classmates and friends.Services: Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, in The Banquet Room at St. Mary’s Church, 401 South St., Chardon. Pastor Joe Boerman will officiate.Visitation: Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2010, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.
