Lynn Diane Kirby

May 20, 1941 - July 13, 2020

Lynn Diane (née:Pomeroy) Kirby, age 79, of Windsor, Ohio, peacefully passed away at her home on July 13, 2020. Born on May 20, 1941 to Clyde and Elsie (nee: Hoyt) Pomeroy in Cleveland, Ohio. Diane grew up in Chardon, Ohio and graduated from Chardon High School in 1959. She attended Hiram College for undergraduate studies and then Cleveland State where she received her Master’s In Phychology enabling her to provide mental health therapy as a Clinical Therapist.

She married the late James Kirby; they had two children. She is survived by her son, William Kirby (Lisa Kavulis) and daughter, Katherine (David Apthorpe) her two grandchildren, O’Hara and Vaughn, whom she enjoyed spending time with and her precious feline, Tommy. She is also survived by her sister, Ann Gay Pimley (Dave).

Diane had a special interest in birds and other animals and volunteered at Cleveland Museum of Natural History where she presented live animal and educational shows. She was an avid gardener and naturalist who loved all things outdoors.

She leaves her joys, Katie, Dave, O’Hara, Vaughn, William, Lisa and Tommy.

Such a fun friend since meeting at Hiram in 1960. We connected many great times through the years. I will miss you forever, Diane!

Diane and I enjoyed many crazy times in high school. I remember the night I was staying overnight at her house and we climbed out her bedroom window at 2am to walk around Chardon. She was a true sweet friend and is now resting in the arms of the Angel's. RIP my friend.

I was a high school friend of Diane's, and was always grateful to have the opportunity to catch up with her at our class reunions. I most recently ran into Diane while grocery shopping at Heinen's in Chardon. When I read her obit I learned that her mother and mine both had the first name, Elsie; her daughter and mine both have the first name, Katherine. I am saddened, and I will miss Diane. My sympathies go out to all her family.

Classmate since Kindergarten. I have a great photo of Diane and I in first grade Thanksgiving play. We were both indians. She will be missed. I did share his news with other classmates. My sympathies to you and yours.

Oh Diane, the fun we had stalking Coventry Road. You were a good friend. Condolences to your family. God speed, I'll miss you.

Diane was my Maid-of Honor. I will miss her. You have my sympathy. I just want O'Hara and Vaughn to know how excited she was when they were born, and she became a grandmother. Katie, she was so proud of you....
