Lois Jean (Nelson) Beech, 74, of Claridon Township, a homemaker, died July 8, 2008, at Briar Hill Health Care in Middlefield Village.Born Oct. 17, 1933, in Cleveland, she was raised in Conneaut before moving to the Chardon area in 1955.Mrs. Beech had a number of jobs, including bartender at Ernst Lanes in Chardon, bookkeeper for the Geauga County Health Department and Ball Rubber Company in Chardon. She also worked in the radiology department of Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights and as clerk of the post office in East Claridon.She was a graduate of Conneaut Rowe High School and attended the Chardon United Methodist Church. She had been a Cub Scout den mother.Survivors are her husband, Herbert D. Beech, whom she married Dec. 15, 1955, in Chardon; daughter, Patricia (David) Meeks of Westlake; son, Herbert B. (Dianne) Beech of Lakeville; two grandsons, David and Mark Meeks; and brother, Howard Nelson of Conneaut.She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Beech; parents, Howard and Mary (Polson) Nelson; and sister, Karen Nelson. Pastor Ray Mullet, Chaplain of Hospice of Care Corp., will officiate. Burial will be in East Claridon Cemetery in Claridon Township.
