Linda Hartory Thomas, age 68, of Chardon, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at her home. She was born July 15, 1942, in Zanesville, and lived in Painesville for 15 years before moving to Chardon two years ago. Linda Thomas had been a cook for the Riverside Local Schools (Painesville Township Schools) for more than 10 years. She had also been a state-tested nursing assistant with Lake Med Rehabilitation in Painesville Township for 15 years. She was a member of the “Red Hat” Ladies and an Arabian Horse Club. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Geauga FOE, Aerie 2261, Chardon. She enjoyed playing bocci ball at Hellriegel’s Inn in Painesville. Survivors: are her daughter, Nancy (Chris) Day of Chardon; son, Walter (Sally) Hartory III of Mentor; four grandchildren, Brittany Hartory of Mentor, Corbin Hartory of Mentor, and Michaela and Delaney Day, both of Chardon; in-laws, James and Mary Catherine Hartory of Chardon, Deborah and Michael Karll of San Diego, Calif. and Barbara and Tyke Anderson of North Royalton; and close nieces, Cheryl Stoltz and Brenda Redenshek. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manford and Hildred (nee: Talbot) Thomas; sister, Evelyn Ramey; and brother, Manford Thomas. Services will be 5:45 p.m. Friday, November 5, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (on State Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.Fr. Stephen Kaminski of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church of Wickliffe, will officiate at the services. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.
