LEORA FRANCIS McELROY 

Leora Francis McElroy, 75, of Chardon, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at home on February 15, 2022. Born September 7, 1946 to Louis McElroy and Florence Coleman (nee: Kingsmill) she was raised in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Collinwood High School.  After leaving Cleveland, she moved to Wickliffe and later, Chardon.  

She worked for many years at the National Acme Company in Cleveland. Leora enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and quilting.  She loved making items for her friends and family.  She recently became deeply interested in ancestry and has spent years creating extensive family trees.  She has connected with family from England and developed ongoing relationships with distant cousins.  She had a desire to travel, and did so whenever she could.  

She is survived by brother Cyril (Carole) Coleman of Chardon, sister-in-law Clare McElroy of Mentor, sisters Patti (Anthony) Ciarlillo and Kathi (Jim) Tierney, both of Chardon.  Leora had 14 nieces and nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews, several great, great nieces/nephews, and many cousins whom she enjoyed following and contacting on Facebook.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, James E. McElroy, sister, Doris Kelley, and dear nephew, Donald Kelley. 

The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
