Services: Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.Visitation: Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.Leona Iona Janis Stefanik Jacobsen, 98, of Chardon, died June 17, 2010, at Holly Hill Assisted Living in Newbury. Born Feb. 29, 1912, in Edenborn, Pa., Leona had been a resident of Chardon for the past nine years and had previously lived in Brooklyn, N.Y. Leona was a waitress at a Wall Street restaurant, known as Willies and had also been a caregiver. Leona enjoyed gardening and visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors are her son-in-law, Karl H. (Joanne V.) Hoffmann; grandchildren, M. Kathleen (Thomas) Micco, Karl (Heidi) Hoffmann Jr., Mark (Christine) Hoffmann, Kirk (Jill) Hoffmann, John (Kimberly) Hoffmann, Diane Hoffmann, and Kraig (Emily) Hoffmann; and great-grandchildren, Erin Sedivy, Madeline, Regina and Kyle Hoffmann, Ryan and Kacey Hoffmann, Ethan, Zachary, and Noah Hoffmann, Anna Micco, Drew and Matthew Hoffmann. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Stefanik; second husband, Edward Roy Jacobsen; daughter, Sue Ann Stefanik Gmuca Hoffmann; and siblings, Steven Janis, Mary Gmuca, Peter Janosky, Susan Giska, Ann Janis, Kathryn Karpus, Josephine Morganowsky, and Michael Janis. The Rev. Jay McPhillips of Church of St. Helen will officiate. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery in Long Island, N.Y.
