KIRT SAURMAN
Age 69 of Burton Twp., died unexpectedly at his home on November 19, 2019. Born June 29, 1950 in Grand Rapids, MI to Paul and Doris (nee: Vandersloot) Saurman. He was the owner/operator of Bama Masonry for many years. Kirt loved driving through the country with friends and family. He enjoyed going to the beach and was an avid reader and domino player.
He is survived by his children, Jody Saurman of Orlando, FL; Serra (Brandon) Burchfield of Birmingham, AL and Stephen Saurman of Burton Twp.; siblings Pam Helbling of Murrells Inlet, SC, Robin (Bob) Garlock of Summerville, SC, Terri (Bob) Daily of Harrison, OH and Jan Carol) Saurman of Bay Village, OH. He also leaves his grandson, Christian Saurman. Kirt was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Susan (nee: McGlathery) Saurman and his parents, Paul and Doris (nee: Vandersloot) Saurman.
Th family will host a gathering on Friday, November 22, 2019, 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon. Private family burial will be held. Donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org/donate.

I first met Kirt and his siblings at the Chagrin Rec Center when they had just moved from MI. Years later I worked with Kirt at Morton Landscape. It was during those years he showed me how to work hard and play hard. Those memories live on with the others who shared the same experiences.
